2021 BAFTA Awards: See Full List Of NominationsBritish Academy of Film and Television Arts (BAFTA) has on Tuesday, March 9 announced its 2021 Film Awards nominations, with Nomadland and Rocks leading the way with seven nods each.

The 74th annual BAFTA Awards, honoring the best British and international contributions to film, will be handed out in London on on April 11.

For the first time in BAFTA history, four women have made it into the best director category – in sharp contrast to last year when there were no women up for best director or best film.

There is also a much more diverse list of nominees in the main acting categories, following a diversity push following criticism of 2020’s all-white performer shortlists.

While Nomadland and Rocks lead the nominations for the 2021 ceremony, with seven nominations apiece, The Father, Mank, Minari and Promising Young Woman all got six nods each.

English actor and activist, Riz Ahmed was nominated for the Leading Actor gong (Sound Of Metal) while the late Chadwick Boseman (Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom) also received a nod in the same category.

It will take place four days before final voting for the Oscars opens. The 93rd Academy Awards is set to hold on Sunday, April 25.
